For this project, I developed a new corporate identity and website for my great-aunt, Hanne de Leuw, a visual artist who wanted to draw more attention to her sculptures. The brief included designing a logo, business cards, and a user-friendly, easy-to-maintain website that reflected her artistic personality.
Take on a look on her site:
I designed the logo and identity in Adobe Illustrator, focusing on simplicity, balance, and recognizability. I deliberately chose soft green tones to create a calm, natural atmosphere that allows the sculptures and photographs to stand out. This color choice supports a sense of serenity and accessibility, which are values that match Hanne’s style and personality.
The website was built in JouwWeb.nl, which offered a clear and efficient platform for development. I paid attention to structure, readability, and intuitive navigation, ensuring that visitors can easily explore her work. Mock-ups were created to show how the corporate identity translates to printed materials and digital use.
The result is a cohesive and tranquil visual identity that emphasizes the strength and elegance of her sculptures. This project taught me how thoughtful design choices, especially in color, composition, and usability, can express someone’s artistic character while maintaining professional clarity.
